MAJALENGKA - West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan ensures West Java International Airport will officially operate for commercial flights on June 8, 2018. It was said after doing historycal flight (flight of historic) from Husein Sastranegara Airport to BIJB Kertajati, on Thursday (24/05/2018).
Governor Aher with his wife Netty Prasetiyani Heryawan, West Java Secretary Iwa Karniwa and entourage West Java Leader Communication Forum do historical flight using the commercial aircraft Garuda Indonesia type Airbus 320 smoothly and arrived at BIJB at 17.00. While other groups who are head of villages from Majalengka using Batik Air plane.
"Alhamdulillah we leave from Husein Sastranegara then on the journey also smoothly and we just landing with success here (BIJB) .This airport will be our pride.This indicates that the Airport is ready to operate later on June 8," said Aher after off the plane.
After stepping foot on BIJB terminal Aher with the entourage directly perform prostration syukur at airport mosque. This is done as a form of syukur for the completion of the Airport built with such a great struggle. After that Aher also check the various facilities supporting the airport. In the airport terminal area is also Tasyakur and prayer together while breaking the fast together.
Aher revealed although the airport has not officially opened yet the flight ticket on June 8 for flight from BIJB to Juanda Airport Surabaya has been booked or fullbooked.
"The airline that will first air on June 8 is Citilink and I see on the internet ticket sales have been booked out to Surabaya," he said.
In addition, other airlines are currently preparing flights at BIJB. Especially for homecoming service this year all airlines are ensured ready to serve.
"If the homecoming will obviously be used that is clear for anything can be during the commercial flight category, should be started tomorrow but should be with the preparation of the airline yes," said Aher.
Aher also ensures BIJB will be integrated with Patimban port in Subang. Distance from BIJB to Patimban as far as 40 Km. For access using Cipali Toll Road.
"With Patimban must be integrated through the toll road Cipali course, later there must be a new toll road to Patimban and will be built," he said.
For naming the current Airport is still not specified. But from the ranks of the West Java provincial government has agreed the name to be proposed to the central government is Abdul Halim International Airport. Abdul Halim himself is a struggle figure from Majalengka and has been determined to be a national hero.
"If from us the name of the Airport is Abdul Halim and will soon be proposed to the center, and I have spoken directly with President Jokowi," he said.
Aher also expressed his gratitude to all parties who have helped realize BIJB which is now the second largest Airport in Indonesia after Soekarno Hatta Airport.
"Especially to my previous Governor Mr. R Nuriana and Mr. Danny Setiawan as the originator of this Airport and all parties who have helped especially to the Bank syndication that helps from the funding," said Aher.
After a successful landing on that historic day Aher believes, not just going home can be served through the Kertajati Airport but Hajj flight 2018 which will begin next July can be done from here.
