    West Java Economy Grows 6.02 Percent


    BANDUNG - West Java's economy in the first quarter-2018 measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices reached Rp. 467.01 trillion, while GDP at constant 2010 prices reached Rp. 343.03 trillion.

    Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) West Java Province Dody Herlando said, seeing from these conditions, the West Java economy quarter I-2018 to quarter I-2017 grew to reach 6.02 percent, with growth in almost all business fields, except agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

    "Service Industry is the highest economic growth in West Java which reached 11.29%, followed by real estate by 10.18%," said Dodi, told reporters at West Java BPS office on Monday (07/05).

    According to Dody, when viewed from the creation, the source of economic growth Jabar quarter I-2018 is the processing industry with the highest growth source of 3.19 percent followed by large retail trade and repair of cars and motorcycles by 0.80 percent and construction by 0.76 percent.

    "The economic structure of West Java is still dominated by 3 business fields, namely, processing industry 42.58%, retail and car reparation bigger 14.78%, and agriculture, forestry and fishery 9.19%," he said. (Parno)
