Waste Management Site (TPS) and Waste Management Installation (IPAL) Key of West Java Sanitation

BANDUNG- The Concept of Waste Management Site (TPS) and Waste Management Installation (Ipal) regional become the key to completion of 100% target of sanitation development in West Java.

West Java Secretary Iwa Karniwa said achievement of sanitation targets in West Java is still difficult to achieve given the issue of waste and waste has not been addressed by the region.

"If the waste and waste have not been addressed, the problem of completion of sanitation targets can be destroyed," he said in a meeting Kick Off Meeting of Accelerated Settlement Sanitation Development (PPSP) Jabar in Gedung Sate, Bandung, Monday (9/4/2018).

According to him, regional waste management prepared by West Java Provincial Government in Legoknangka, Kabupaten Bandung and Nambo, Bogor is believed to be effective to overcome the problem of garbage in Bandung Raya and Bogor Raya.

"It needs two more places of regional waste management in Ciayumajakuning and Bekasi, Karawang, Purwakarta," he said.

Iwa claimed the existence of Nambo located in Bogor for example has been requested by DKI and South Tanggerang to participate throw garbage at that location.

"South Tangerang and Jakarta are ready to use the facility because they are also difficult to dispose of garbage," he said.

In addition to garbage, another problem is the handling of industrial waste which is currently still a problem especially in areas that have industry. According to him, the base of waste management problems is the 70s rule that designs the existence of industrial zonation.

"If zoning, the waste is managed respectively. Because the Ipal turned out to be expensive, the naughty dumped its waste into the river, "he said.

According to him, the regional concept of Ipal can answer the completion of waste management in the region. If the land is ready, then the Ipal technology is then auctioned, once materialized, the industry can send its waste to the regional Ipal. (Even)
