    Ministry of Social Affairs is Moving Quickly to Help Disaster Victims in West Java


    BANDUNG, - Flood and landslide disaster hit Bandung Regency and West Bandung Regency, West Java Province. The Ministry of Social Affairs is moving quickly to implement disaster mitigation measures.

    "The Ministry of Social Affairs has coordinated with West Java Provincial Social Office, Bandung Regency and West Bandung Regency in handling disaster affected people," said Director General of Social Protection and Social Security, Harry Hikmat while reviewing the locations affected by floods and landslides at the Dayeuhkolot District Office Bandung regency, on Saturday (10/3/2018)

    Efforts include assessing the needs of affected victims and mobilizing Tagana Kabupaten Bandung, West Bandung Regency and Bandung City to join other volunteers in conducting SAR operations.

    "Tagana and KSB also set up shelters for temporary shelters, provide natura assistance to meet demand for food, as well as psychosocial support services for displaced victims," he said.

    Furthermore, to collect data on the victims of death, refugees and the destruction of houses for the planned relocation of the landslide-affected homes.

    As is known, there has been a landslide disaster in the Village Buninagara Sindang District Train District West Bandung on Monday morning, March 5, 2018. Landslide that occurred covering 5 hectares, extending from the cliff to the river through the house and rice fields.

    The victim died as many as two people in one family namely Puja Nurbayanti (14) and Damah (45) who is a child and his mother with heir who is the husband of Alm. Damah is Kuswandi (49)
