    West Java Prevents Corruption of Goods-Services Procurement


    BANDUNG - West Java Provincial Government supports the efforts to prevent corruption in the procurement of goods and services.

    West Java Provincial Secretary Iwa Karniwa said that he attended the KPK coordination meeting with the Government's Goods / Service Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) and 10 provincial and municipal Secretaries (Sekda) with the largest procurement and service budget.

    In the meeting, he said, there was a recommendation needed to improve the institutional and procurement system of goods and services. "There is a discourse to make Bureau of Procurement, merging of Government Procurement Service Unit (ULP) with Electronic Procurement Service (LPSE)," he said in Bandung on Tuesday (6/3)

    He explained that so far LPSE and ULP are separate. The ULP becomes an ad hoc institution according to the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 99 of 2014 which mandates it to be in Regional Secretariat.

    Iwa claims will try no stagnation when the organizational structure changes. Because, West Java has a budget absorption target in 2018 of 96 percent or higher than the achievement of 2017 which is at 95.78 percent.
