BANDUNG-The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) will closely monitor the procurement of goods and services procurement projects in conjunction with the 2018 election.
Chairman of KPPU, Syarkawi Rauf said, in the implementation of pilkada certainly will require large funds and usually the source of financing is a procurement project tender.
"Currently the political year, we clearly in KPPU will conduct strict supervision related to the procurement of goods and services in the implementation of elections simultaneously," said Syarkawi told reporters in Bandung, Friday night (26/1/2018)
The oversight of the project tenders will be strictly enforced in order to avoid conspiracy in various daerha so as to be a source of income for some irresponsible persons.
"The procurement projects will be closely monitored, and there should be no indication that there is an indication of the conspiracy of goods and services so that they can be a source of income for certain people," said Syarkawi.
KPPU will also closely monitor the procurement of goods and services in the Regional Election Commission (KPUD) such as tender of ballot papers, ballot boxes, ink and others. The same thing has also been done by KPPU in the previous election.
Syarkawi further added that the Central KPPU will directly oversee the procurement of goods and services of West Java Election Commission for the conduct of elections in North Sumatra and South Sulawesi already have their own KPPU.
"For West Java KPPU center will directly supervise the provision of goods and services, because here we do not have a representative office," he concluded. (MAT)
