BANDUNG-Coordinating Minister for Marine Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan asserted, the taskforce team set Citarum target within 5 years, Citarum will be back clean. This was revealed by Luhut after holding a meeting and socialization of Citarum arrangement in Gedung Sate, Tuesday (16/1).
"We want five years from now, Citarum water can be drunk. We believe in the commitment and work of all parties, hope that can be achieved" he said, accompanied by Vice Governor Jabar Deddyizwar and Menkopolhukam Wiranto.
Previously, in meetings and socialization attended by regional heads, entrepreneurs and related policy holders of Citarum, Luhut explained the current state of Citarum.
"It's natural that International magazine calls Citarum as the dirtiest river in the world, and it's like that now you see it," he said as he showed a slide on two large screens installed in the West Hall of Gedung Sate where the event took place.
"This is due to many factors including the culture of the people themselves, in addition to intentional pollution such as industrial waste," explained Luhut.
Therefore, according to Luhut, Citarum handling is now commanded directly by the central government so that the process can be integrated.
"In the past, all fields worked, but not integrated partial alias." The outer fund is quite large but does not lead to problems "he explained.
Luhut added, in addition to the arrangement of physical problems, legal issues will also be resolved, such as waste disposal, land conversion and others.
"Therefore Mr. Wiranto (menkopolhukam) is also present here, because it is likely to involve a lot of legal issues," Luhut concluded. (Even)
