BANDUNG-The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of West Java Province hopes that the rice harvest targeted in January 2018 by the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) is expected to suppress the rising rice price volatility.
"Kementan declared the end of January rice harvest, Insha Allah this January, we hope this rice harvest becomes a solution related to rice price hikes in recent days," said Chairman of Parliament West Java Ineu Purwadewi Sundari, in Bandung, Sunday (14/1) .
According to Ineu, rice harvest in West Java does not fail in order to meet the needs of rice for this region and other areas.
"If we can not import it first, it will soon be a harvest of rice, but not when harvest (there is an import policy) will affect rice price which will eventually decrease," he said.
It hopes the West Java Provincial Government through the relevant OPD as agricultural service can check ahead of the preparation of rice harvest so that no harvest failure.
"In addition, West Java provincial government should also be able to nurture the farmers so that the results can be distributed properly so that it can meet the food needs of the people of West Java and other areas, especially West Java is known as one of the national rice barns," he said.
Since the end of 2017, the price of rice in traditional markets in Bandung has increased. The increase occurred until January 2018, as in Pasar Sayati Bandung Regency rice price rose Rp1.000 to Rp1.500 per kilogram. (Even)
