    President Reminds the Society to Appreciate the Differences in the Pilkada


    BANDUNG-A total of 171 local elections, both the election of governors, the election of regents and mayoral election will be held throughout the country in 2018.

    As a leader of a major country with 714 tribes and over 1,100 regional languages, President Joko Widodo warned that the elections do not break the harmony that has been going on for so long.

    "I leave this country big country, not to election of governor, election of regent, mayoral election, let alone step on 2019 presidential election, do not get different choice because democracy that we run become broke, do not get along again, do not!" Said President when giving speech at the peak of Siliwangi's 51st Anniversary Celebration (AMS) at Gedung Merdeka Bandung, Thursday, December 28, 2017.


    The President also warned that the difference should not eliminate brotherhood as a nation. "We are a countryman and a countryman please select the best country leader after that we are back so countryman compatriots. Do not let each other neighbors, between villages, between friends, do not! "Said the President.

    On the occasion, the President also reminded the members of AMS to continue to preserve the heroes of the nation and uphold the teachings of the Divine for the happiness of the people of Indonesia in the spirit of establishment of AMS.

    "I am very proud to be present in the middle of the Siliwangi Youth Forces of the heroes of the Indonesian heroes, the patriots of the nation. AMS was founded 51 years ago to coincide with the Heroes Day 10 November, I believe in the veins of every AMS member flowing blood pakusarakan, "said President.

    Development of Infrastructure in West Java

    In his speech, the President also conveyed various infrastructure developments in West Java Province. Starting from cleaning Citarum river, completion of new airport Kertajati, Bogor Ciawi Sukabumi toll road construction and double railway line, and airport development in Sukabumi.

    The President said that he had been informed that the Citarum river had become a very dirty river. "The pollution from the factory went all in there and I also got some bacteria information already showing up there," said the President.

    Surely this is not a good thing for agriculture upstream and downstream.

    "It is also not good for residents who use Citarum for clean water, especially residents in Jakarta because it takes almost entirely of water from the Citarum river," he said.

    Therefore, the total revamping of the Citarum River will begin in mid-January 2018, either in the upstream rehabilitation of land or related to the tributaries.

    "Also the water coming from the factories will all be thoroughly seen because we want this river to be really beneficial for agriculture in West Java and raw water in West Java so that Citarum can return to the clean old river that can be used for life everyday citizens in West Java, "said the President.

    For Kertajati airport, the President said that by mid 2018 the airport will be completed and used. "This is a very large airport, very useful to encourage the mobility of goods (and) people, especially in West Java. And we expect it can really move our economy, "said Head of State.

    In addition, by mid 2019, the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road (Bocimi) is expected to be completed so that it will shorten the travel distance of Jakarta-Sukabumi which is only 60 kilometers away. "I have experienced 6 hours myself," said the President.


    The President also said that the government had started construction of the Bogor-Sukabumi railway double track two weeks ago. "Two weeks ago, we hope Bogor Sukabumi Cianjur, wherever connected double track", said the President.

    The construction of the airport in Sukabumi will also begin in 2018. The president admitted would not leak the construction site is feared soaring land prices. "But on what side, you do not ask to me because so know the land will jump, not so wake up airport, next grounbreaking, later decided after the land affairs is finished," said the President.

    At the end of his speech, the President hopes that in his 51st anniversary, AMS can continue to be the pride of Pasundan people and become the pride of the Indonesian people.

    Also present was accompanied by President and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, among others Minister of Marine Affairs Coordinator Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Chief of Staff of President of Teten Masduki, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan and Chairman of AMS Noery Ispandji Firman.
