BANDUNG- The level of public participation in voting is currently not directly proportional to their level of participation in participating in electoral supervision. This was stated by Head of Law, Public Relation and Inter-Agency Relations of Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) West Java Province, Angga N Nugraha.
"It takes a proactive effort to raise awareness and the ability of the community to participate in supervising the election implementation," said Angga, in the Coordination Meeting of Media Center Development Bawaslu Jabar in order to Improve the Supervision of Regional Head Elections 2018, Wednesday (27/12).
According to Angga, there are two factors that influence the level of public participation in electoral supervision, namely the lack of information about General Election and Electoral Supervision and the low technical capacity of the public in conducting election surveillance.
"Bawaslu is in charge of overseeing the implementation of the General Elections in the context of prevention and prosecution for the realization of democratic elections, an approach taken as an anticipation to avoid violations," he said.
Prevention means anticipation in order to prevent preventive violation means to make efforts to avoid violation of law Election while Peninggakan done as a concrete step to perpetrators of election violation so that sanction gets the law. (Parno)
