    BPBD Prioritize Earthquake Disaster Preparedness in West Java


    BANDUNG-After the earthquake disaster in Tasikmalaya on Friday, December 15, 2017, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPDB) of West Java Province took steps priorotas in earthquake disaster handling.

    The incident affected 9 regencies / cities in West Java, namely Sukabumi, Cianjur, Bandung, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Ciamis, Pangandaran, Tasikmalaya, Banjar.

    Head of BPBD Jabar, Dicky Saromi explains, which immediately carried out is the addition of logistics by the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), especially in four districts / cities that have set its Emergency Response as additional logistics from that has been given by BPBD West Java Province before basic availability in the warehouse of the Regency / City BPBD concerned.

    "The use of this logistics is for the existing post in each BPBD of regency / city and refugee post in Ciamis Regency in this case in Pamarican sub-district," said Dicky told reporters in Bandung on Monday (18/12/2017)

    In addition to the addition of logistics has been assisted also by BNPB to the four districts / cities namely Tasikmalaya, Tasikmalaya, Ciamis and Pangandaran.

    Operational Funds during the Emergency Response amounting to Rp250 million each, with priority handling in the form of repair damaged settlements will be met through the aid of stimulant funds from the Central Government with each region that has established the Emergency Response Decree to first perform a valid verification by name by address (CPCL) and in SK by the Head of each Region.

    "This step should be taken as a form of accountability and transparency of the use of funds and to ensure the clarity of the amount of aid and who the recipient," said Diki

    Furthermore, each region can determine the amount of rupiah for the stimulant aid in each classification of the level of damage to the house such as heavily damaged, moderately damaged, slightly damaged by involving relevant agencies.

    Dicky added that the stimulant fund is expected to be fulfilled entirely by the Central Government in accordance with the amount of damage in 2018. Meanwhile, if there is damage to public facilities will be done through rehabilitation and reconstruction funds.

    "If it is lacking, then it is directed to be fulfilled by West Java Provincial Government and related Regency / City which has established disaster emergency response status," he concluded (MAT)
