    Provincial Government Establishes Team of International Islamic University of Indonesia Establishment

    BANDUNG-West Java Provincial Government will soon establish a team to accelerate the land acquisition of the International Islamic University of Indonesia (UIII) Campus.

    Regional Secretary of West Java Iwa Karniwa said the formation of this team follow up the letter of the Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Syaifuddin to West Java provincial government on 21 November. "The letter is essentially a request for the formation of an integrated team to handle the social impact and socialization of the UIII development project," he said at Gedung Sate, Bandung, Monday (27/11).

    According to him the formation of this team is a direct direction from President Joko Widodo considering the establishment of UIII became one of the basic and urgent needs. "Mr. President hopes there is a center of Islamic education in Indonesia that is International scale," he said.

    The request for the formation itself related to the location of UIII project to be built in Depok precisely in the former land of RRI of 142.5 hectares. On the land is currently standing a number of buildings that have long lived. "West Java provincial government will help fully solve this of course in a persuasive way considering UIII is in the interests of a larger," he explained.

    The selection of location in Depok itself considering the availability of land owned by the State is very wide. In addition, the location of the campus is made strategically for easy access from the capital city. But related to the budget size, Iwa claimed authority and calculation into the central realm.
