BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan asserted the provincial government will continue to strive for daily labour (TLH) in agricultural extension worker in West Java could be appointed as civil servant. According to him, the number of agricultural extension workers in West Java as many as 1,400 people are currently paid of West Java budget.
"If we talk about food security, agricultural extension workers become a very important role to bring the food security. Because of its important role, so that must be thought about their status,” he said.
According to Ahmad Heryawan, West Java being the only province in Indonesia that raised agriculture extension worker to become civil servant.
"We are the only one in Indonesia has initiative to promote the agricultural extension worker, it’s because of reminding their important role. When I met with the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry (Menpan RB), I always say about the appointment of honorary agricultural extension worker to become civil servant,” he said.
