BANDUNG-The presence of West Java International Airport (BIJB), Kertajati, Majalengka Regency is believed to have an impact also on the mobility of the people of Central Java. In addition to access that is easy to reach and become a competitive airport, this could be one of the new market share.

West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan said the Central Java residents, especially those living in the western part of the province, would choose Kertajati as a travel solution by air. Majalengka geographically located in eastern West Java is very easy to reach people who are on the border of these two provinces.

"At the same time Central Java, which is from Tegal, Pekalongan, Cilacap, Brebes closer to Majalengka, in this case the general aviation can come here, because it will be more comfortable," said the man who is familiarly called Aher in Bandung, Wednesday 15 November 2017.

As an airport which will also become the solution of density bottlenecks at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Husein Sastranegara, Aher ensures the presence of BIJB also divert 46 million citizens of West Java to choose air travel. So far, Husein Sastranegara Airport, the only civil aviation service in West Java, is already tired enough to accommodate the number of passengers.

"If Bogor, then Depok (Soekarno-Hatta) is going there, it seems that Cianjur - Sukabumi in the middle (West Java) can be arranged, but if Karawang, Purwakarta, Subang, Indramayu, Cirebon, Garut, Ciamis, Tasikmalaya, Sumedang, Bandung Raya, Priangan Raya, "Aher added.

"So three-quarters of West Java residents will go there, so we are optimistic that we can suck directly," Aher added.

Potential Journey of Hajj from West Java which each year has a quota of 39 thousand and umroh with 7 thousand markets nationally, said Aher this could also be one answer. It's just that the arrangement of embarkation must be done immediately so that the Ministry of Religious Affairs can give permission for citizens who want to go to the Holy Land.

"When the people of Majalengka to (embarkation) Bekasi is far. At once the people of Pangandaran, Ciamis, Bekasi and to Halim is very far.Of course when the Airport in Kertajati will be close as well. Cirebon people are closer to there. Majalengka people there just ride angkot. Indramayu people there and also Banjar, Ciamis, "said Aher.

"It is closer, Bandung is the same, closer also Bandung only 70 km If it is to Cengkareng 160 km. So the area of Bandung East Priangan, North Coast West Java from Bekasi, Karawang Subang Indramayu, Cirebon, Bandung and then Sumedang close to it, "Aher continued.

Director of PT BIJB Virda Dimas Ekaputra said, as the executor of the airport development has conducted a study of the market. Based on data from mobile operators there are 1.4 million pantura residents who often move using air travel via Soekarno-Hatta or Husein Sastranegara. Moreover, the presence of BIJB can also serve umroh and become embarkation of Hajj. The condition is considered quite promising.

"This is a good opportunity, just our readiness, especially in offering flight routes," beber Virda.

So far, BIJB has been working with a number of national and international airlines to support flights. Among them are Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Sriwijaya, and Lion Air Group.
