BANDUNG - BPJS Health together with West Java Provincial Government signed MoU on optimizing the government's role in realizing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) National Health Insurance - Healthy Indonesia Card West Java Province in 2018. MoU signing was held in the commemoration of National Health Day (HKN) 53 levels of West Java Province at Gedung Sate, Monday (13/11).
"This activity is one form of local government role in realizing UHC or universal coverage.This UHC is actually a form of our joint commitment in succeeding JKN-KIS program as one of the government's strategic program," said West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director of BPJS Health Dept. of West Java Deputy Mohammad Edison revealed, the total membership BPJS Health of West Java until 31 October 2017 reached 30,777,549 inhabitants.
"The amount is equivalent to 70.36 percent of the total population of West Java coming from various segments including residents who are registered by the local government through JAMKESDA integration" Edison said.
Edison also added that local government support is crucial in maximizing the JKN-KIS program. "For example, Cirebon City is the first city in West Java that has reached Universal Health Coverage on 1 November 2017 with the total membership of 320,362 people" concluded Edison.
As it is known, NHD theme this time is "Healthy My Family Healthy My Indonesia". The theme is in line with the Healthy Indonesia Program through the Family Approach where families are starting to encourage an independent community to live healthy. (Pun)
