BANDUNG-West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan conducted sidak [sudden inspections ] to Cihaurgeulis traditional market, Bandung together with the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU). Sidak devoted to monitor the price of chicken meat which now soaring.
Aher and the KPPU commissioner that led by its chairman Syarkowi Ma'Ruf visited several of chicken meat traders at Cihaurgeulis traditional market.
In dialogue with the local traders, they admitted that the average price of chicken meat now is about Rp 28,000-36.000,- per kilogram. According to the trader, the price is now more expensive than the price when the fasting month and Eid ago.
In his press conference, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan said the Provincial Government will continue to monitor the field including distribution channels.
"The provincial government will continue to monitor if there are problems in the distribution channels and stabilise the market operation when it is necessary. While the KPPU in charge of investigating the high price causes,” Aher said.
