    Vice Governor Demiz:West Java Continues To Offer Tourism Attractions


    BANDUNG- Tourism is a very important sector as a locomotive of economic growth as well as role as main source of state income. Based on data from Bank Indonesia Representative Office of West Java, tourism contribution to West Java economy in trade, accommodation and restaurant sector reached Rp 33 Trillion more. It shows that tourism plays an important role and encourages the economic growth and welfare of people in West Java.

    "Alhamdulillah, until 2016 West Java became the province that receives the most tourist visit of the archipelago that is 45 million people although for foreign tourists still in the range of 1 million people," said Deddy Mizwar, Vice Governor of West Java Province in his speech at the Graduation Ceremony of Graduate Program , Bachelor Degree, Diploma IV and Diploma III Tourism College NHI Bandung, West Java, Monday (06/11/2017).

    In accordance with the branding of Pesona Jawa Barat Indonesia or Wonderful West Java Indonesia, West Java Provincial Government continues to offer natural tourism attraction, cultural tourism and artificial tourism which amounted to 1300 units, but when viewed from aspect 3A (Access, Attraction and Amenity) that West Java has a weakness in terms of access. Therefore, the acceleration of the international airport development of West Java or BIJB continues to be pursued and is expected in early 2018 can be done soft launching. So that later BIJB become the main entrance of tourists to West Java.

    One new attraction in West Java offered to prospective tourists is Geopark Ciletuh Palabuhan Ratu which next year will get the predicate of UNESCO Global Geopark and also the megalithic site of Mount Padang in Cianjur where access to the place is being improved. In addition, West Java Provincial Government is preparing a Muslim-friendly tourist destinations or halal tourism.
