    West Java Provincial Government Already Set Disaster Preparedness


    BANDUNG-After coordination with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), West Java Provincial Government have just established the disaster preparedness. “The disaster preparedness started from 4 January to 4 April 2016,” said Chief of West Java BPBD, R. Haryadi in a statement to reporters, Thursday (21/1).

    According to Haryadi, the disaster preparedness has been followed up in the region through SK of Regent/Mayor. Hopefully with these disaster preparedness, other area can prevent the occurrence of disaster. Some other areas has also prepared for the logistics, especially in areas which experienced with disasters.

    West Java BPBDs parties in January 2016 has recorded the natural disasters happened. There are 4 disasters in Cianjur such as landslides and flash floods. In Bandung regency, the landslides occurred once but it has been solved despite the impact of casualties.

    In Garut also occurred natural disasters but there was no casualties. The number of natural disasters reached 4 cases, with dominated by landslides and tornados.

    According to Haryadi, West Java BPBD remind the society should be wary entering the rainy season especially for putting belong that usually happened in the villages area.
