BANDUNG-PT West Java International Airport (BIJB) and Garuda Indonesia Group agreed to cooperate. Establishment of this cooperation will be the basis for the implementation of airport development located in Kertajati Sub District, Majalengka Regency, West Java Province.
This strategic partnership is marked by the signing of MoU or memorandum of understanding by the President Director of Garuda Indonesia Pahala Nugraha Mansury and Director of PT BIJB Virda Dimas Ekaputra, at Garuda Indonesia Management Building, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Area, Cengkareng, Thursday (19/10/17).
Several parties from the Indonesian Board of Airlines Representative (BAR Indo) flight association and other stakeholders also witnessed the MoU.
This is the case, revealed in a release issued by BIJB Public Relations and received editorial jabarprov.go.id, Thursday (19/10) afternoon.
In the release Virda said, strategic cooperation with Garuda Group as a state-owned red plate with BIJB status of West Java Regional Owned Enterprises will have a direct impact on the potential for airport development in the future. The reason, BIJB itself will not only be projected to develop the air transportation industry, but the presence of business areas and large industries with the aerocity.
"With this partnership, we believe we can help accelerate the process to realize one of BIJB's vision of becoming an international holding company, airport manager and the best area in Indonesia, and can be a driving force in the economy especially in West Java," said Virda .
In the MoU, a number of points will be equated, namely the development of domestic and international routes, transportation, hotel, catering, travel & leisure, ground handling, cargo to cargo warehousing.
"The presence of this partnership certainly hope can both contribute to the community directly and benefit from the business being woven," added Virda.
Garuda Indonesia Group with many subsidiaries such as Aerowisata, Saber Travel Network Indonesia, Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia (GMF, Aero Systems Indonesia, Citilink Indonesia and Gapura Angkasa will continue to commit and synergize to maximize BIJB's potential to become the second largest airport in Indonesia.
Pahala Nugraha Mansury said, through the synergy of BIJB with Garuda Indonesia Group, of course will be able to help maximally make BIJB as an airport that can support economic growth in Indonesia, especially West Java.
Because the presence of BIJB admitted does not close the possibility will be a new relationship in addition to Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Medan and Makassar.
BIJB itself is currently in the process of physical performance with 65 percent, targeted to operate in the first half of 2018 later. Even in the first year of operation, BIJB is also preparing to become the embarkation of Hajj next year. The master plan is currently being pursued where BIJB wants to make the best airport for halal traveler by pocketing the Qibla certificate. This is intended as a form of maximum service for pilgrims.
BIJB in its early stages will operate with a runway along 3,000 X 60 meters. It's just that in the development of the airport worth Rp 2.6 trillion it is planned to operate with two runways.
In the early stages of BIJB standing on this 1,800 hectare land, it is optimistic to siphon 2.7 million passengers at the beginning of its operation in 2018.
