    New 22 Fintech Industries Registered in Financial Services Authority


    BANDUNG-Until now estimated there are already about 200 more financial services industry with a platform that utilizes technology or often called Fintech (financial technology). But it turns out that only 22 Fintech who have registered in the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
    Head of OJK West Java (Jabar) Sarwono said, there are two authorities that oversee the Fintech of Bank Indonesia (BI) and OJK. BI monitors related financial transactions while OJK takes care of consumer protection.
    "But unfortunately from hundreds of Fintech, currently only 22 have registered or registered in OJK. In West Java alone only one Fintech, Uang Teman, others are not yet registered, "he said in Bandung, Thursday (19/10).
    He said Fintech should be listed on OJK to give trust to its customers. Although admittedly, there is no obligation of Fintech to enroll in OJK.
    "There is no obligation, but at least if it is registered it will increase trust to its customers," he said.
    Meanwhile, Head of Public & Government Relations of FUang Teman Rimba Laut said his side registered his business in OJK as part to improve the sense of security and trust of the community.
    "We follow the rule of law, especially if it can improve consumer safety and comfort," he said.
    He added for the West Java region, currently Uang Teman have disbursed loans around Rp 5 billion. jo
