    IMAGE 2017, Middle East Investor Event Recognizes West Java Potential


    BANDUNG-The Government of West Java Province and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia organized the 2017 Global Economic Gathering on Economy (IMAGE) 2017 and will take place in Bandung, the capital of West Java Province on Sunday-Tuesday (8-10 / 10/17)

    The meeting will focus on the opportunities of Middle Eastern countries to conduct business activities in West Java in areas such as trade (exports of coffee, tea, leather, fashion and handicrafts) and investment (Utilities BIJB, Water Treatment Systems / SPAM Metropolitan Cirebon Raya, Waste Management in Legok Jackfruit, and geothermal). The highest investment value offered is the construction of the BIJB power plant, valued at Rp731.5 billion.

    Head of Bureau of Government and Cooperation West Java Provincial Secretariat Taufiq Budi Santoso explained IMAGE this is an annual routine event of the Directorate General of Asia Pacific and Africa Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia. West Java this year was appointed to host after the previous year, the same event was held in South Sulawesi Province.

    Taufiq explained that the meeting will be attended by businessmen and investors from 19 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Iraq, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Algeria , Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Oman, and Mauritania.

    "Recorded 60 private entrepreneurs, 45 West Java Owned Enterprises and State Owned Enterprises located in West Java, and 135 middle eastern businessmen will be involved in this business meeting," he said at Gedung Sate, Friday (6/10/17).

    Taufiq said that in addition to large investment in infrastructure, this meeting is also an effort of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia to support West Java local small and medium business to go international. "That's why invited business actors are not big ones or who can already export independently," he said.

    For three days, the meeting participants will attend various banquets and exhibitions. The first agenda said Taufiq is a Welcome Dinner to be held in West Hall Gedung Sate on Sunday (8/10/17), which will be attended by Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar and Director General of Asia Pacific and Africa Ministry of Foreign Affairs RI Desra Percaya.

    "Business Meeting IMAGE 2017 premiere will be held in the West Hall Gedung Sate, and will be attended by West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan and the delegations of Middle Eastern countries with the agenda of exposure to investment opportunities in West Java and business matching and West Java export product exhibition" said Taufiq.

    "After that there is a Press Conference with media folks, one-on-one meeting, there is also an exhibition in the East Hall," he added. The next day, participants IMAGE planned to slide into West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati Majalengka Regency for field visits and listening to the exposure.

    Not only business people, IMAGE 2017 in Bandung will also be attended by ambassadors and public officials of Middle Eastern countries.
