BANDUNG-The government plans to move the capital of the country in Jakarta. The plan, Indonesia will build an ideal capital outside of Java.
Minister of National Development Planning (Bappenas), Bambang Brodjonegoro said the government is also conducting a study of readiness by conducting surveys to several locations to see the status of land from the region.
"We want to move the capital, but it has not to free the land so we have land and we have to pay attention to the availability of water and free of disaster, so there are physical and non-physical requirements," he told reporters in Bandung on Friday (29/9/2017 ).
According to Bambang, the selection of the territory to be the capital city with 100,000 hectares of land for the capital is viewed based on the level of disaster vulnerability.
Bambang explained the development of this new capital by establishing an ideal new city in Indonesia because the cities that had been made the capital still less than ideal when viewed from the basic infrastructure and city standards. One of the requirements to build an ideal city is to require a large area.
"We are looking for the least disaster area to be a capital city, we want to build an ideal capital in Indonesia," he said.
The government can not target the process of building a new capital. The reason is still waiting for the results of site reviews, urban design and development financing schemes. Several other countries whose mothers moved locations such as Khazaktan, Brazil, Nigeria and Myanmar.
