    Garut Has Modern Dairy Processing Industry

    GARUT-Potential cattle farms in Garut regency ogled foreign investors and they invest their capital for milk processing and modern farming in the Tarogong Kaler highlands Garut.

    PT ABC Kogen Dairy and PT Raffles Pacific Harvest, supported by Mitsui & Co, are building dairy processing industry and modern dairy farm based on the latest livestock technology in Garut.
    "The presence of PT ABC Kogen and supported by PT Raffles Pacific Harvest Farm in Garut will increase the production of cow's milk in Indonesia.

    We are able to contribute 4.5% of the national quality milk supply with a capacity of 100 million liters of milk per year, "said Warren Choo, President Director of PT ABC Kogen during the inauguration of the dairy industry in Garut (20/9).

    The land area owned by this foreign company reaches 72 hectares with a capacity of more than 10,000 cows. The company's commitment is to promote the dairy industry in Indonesia through enhancing the knowledge and welfare of local dairy farmers, making high milk standards and educating the benefits of milk consumption on Indonesian society, Warren Cho explained.

    Meanwhile, the Director General of Agro Industry at the Ministry of Industry, Panggah Susanto, said that the consumption of milk per capita in Indonesia will continue to be improved as it currently only reaches 12.01 liters per year, far below the per capita consumption of other ASEAN countries which reach more than 20 liter per capita per year.

    The presence of PT ABC Kogen and PT Raffles Pacific Harvest is expected to advance the government nutrition program that is Balanced Nutrition Guidelines and contribute to the welfare of local farmers, "said Panggah Susanto.

    The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Garut Regent, Rudy Gunawan and CEO of Mitsui & Co, as well as Japanese Embassy Officials for Indonesia. (Vit)
