    PT BIJB Offers Business Aircraft Maintenance Opportunities at AMROI 2017 Event


    BANDUNG-PT International Airport West Java (PT BIJB) offers investment opportunities in airport and aerocity area of West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka in Aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) Indonesia (AMROI) 2017.

    AMROI 2017 is the largest MRO Aviation event in Indonesia. AMROI is hosted by the Indonesia Aircraft Maintenance Services Association (IAMSA), which is the official industry association for MRO service providers in Indonesia.

    The event brings together about 300 delegates from over 20 different countries, with 32 airlines and 27 MRO operators participating. Indonesia's senior decision makers for MRO operators and the aviation industry will attend this event.

    AMROI 2017 is sponsored by some of the largest MRO companies in the world including Air France, KLM, SR Technics, FL Technics and Turkish Technic.

    President Director of PT BIJB Virda Dimas Ekaputra said AMROI 2017 event is an opportunity to convey the development and opportunities in BIJB, especially for business people maintenance, repair and overhaul aircraft. "We look forward to working with MRO stakeholders around the world," he said in a corporate release on Thursday (9/14/2017).

    According to him since 2.5 years ago the Regional-owned enterprises was established and by the West Java Provincial Government through regional regulation No. 22 and 23 of 2013, it got the task of building a world-class airport and aerocity in Kertajati, Majalengka.

    "In the process we realized that we were not just building an airport or an area or just building a gate, a gate for people and goods traffic was a gateway to improve Indonesia's economy, especially West Java," he said.

    Virda explained that BIJB is a gate that is expected to serve wide-bodied aircraft, with capacity of 121,000m2 of passenger terminal and 90,000 m2 for cargo terminal.

    To carry out the tasks of the Government, PT BIJB will develop airports and aerocity areas. "We have 6 clusters in the aerocity that we will develop," he said.

    Exposed Virda, with the largest population in Indonesia, West Java plans to develop 3 metropolitan and 3 new economic growth centers, each will be equipped with airport to be connected to BIJB. "There are potential markets that MROs can consider,"

    According to him, investment opportunities in this region are more interesting considering that today his side together with West Java Provincial Government is pushing the region into special economic region (KEK). Virda ensures the filing of aerocity into KEK will be an incentive for business people there. 'KEK is an incentive we are working on,' he explained.

    While from the side of the airport itself the government has decided to use Kertajati as a place of pilgrim flights in 2018. (HUMAS-PT BIJB)
