BANDUNG-West Java Provincial Government gives appreciation to Rancage Cultural Foundation which has been consistently doing maintenance, development and preservation of local languages and literature as well as giving reward to those who are considered to have preserved with his literary works.
Vice Governor of West Java, Deddy Mizwar said the need for hard work of all parties to be able to innovate to preserve and reestablish the prestige of regional culture in the midst of globalization era of an increasingly prevalent foreign cultural currents and began to erode the existence of regional culture.
"Of the many cultural areas that live and become the nation's cultural wealth, one that needs to get serious attention from all stakeholders is the field of literature," he said.
According to the Vice Governor, the regional language that used to be the mother tongue is now the greatest because it is no longer the language of speech that should be introduced early on by the parents.
"Nowadays parents are more proud if children from childhood have been taught foreign languages and not a few children now feel ashamed to use the local language," he said. (Parno)
