    ITB Cooperates with Research Center in Energy Research

    BANDUNG-PT. PT. Pusat Riset Energi (PRE) is working with the Bandung Technology Institute (ITB) to conduct research and development in the field of oil and gas exploration technology. This joint research collaboration aims to support the growth of the domestic oil and gas industry sector.

    This PRE-ITB collaboration will result in the output of appropriate technology that can improve cost efficiency in exploration and production activities, and improve the quality of safety and security for the environment and workers in the oil and gas industry of Indonesia.

    PRE cooperation with ITB begins with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (Memorandum of Understanding) which is held in Room Rapim A, ITB Rectorate Building Bandung. The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding initiated a series of research activities together with PRE-ITB which will commence in September 2017-January 2021.
     
    The series of research activities together with PRE-ITB include research in Big Data Analysis, Drilling Automation, and Seismic Exploration.

    The three main topics raised in this joint research are the first step in building intelligent infrastructure that will be implemented in the oil and gas sector, both upstream and downstream. It is expected that with the intelligent infrastructure for the oil and gas sector, the objective to improve cost efficiency and improve the quality of safety and security of the environment and workers in the oil and gas industry can be achieved.

    Director of PT PRE Suparto said more research will be done for oil and gas operations and operations.

    "After this MoU will be followed up with a discussion of researcher needs and budget, this cooperation will be enhanced with Pertamina and also with foreign companies in the coming year," he said. Jo
