BANDUNG-Government through the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) will realize the self-sufficiency of food by applying the mechanization system.
This was expressed by the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman when giving a public lecture on the campus of Telkom University passage Buah Batu Bandung, Tuesday (08/08/2017)
Amran said that if Indonesia wants to increase the amount of food production including agriculture, then one of them must choose seeds that can produce about 10 tons.
"To achieve food self-sufficiency there is no way except to have to do the mechanization system that is using technology," he said.
According to Amran, the implementation of this mechanization system can reduce production costs up to 40 percent. For example, before the implementation of the system, the cost of planting reached Rp2 million but with the implementation of mechanization system can save up to Rp 1 million.
"That's what we mean to do large-scale mechanization," he concluded. (MAT)
