    West Java Industrial Growth Stagnant

    BANDUNG–West Java Central Bureau Statistics (BPS) mention that Production Growth of Large and Medium Manufacturing Industry in the quarter II of 2017 decreased by 0.81 percent (q-to-q) from quarter I of 2017.

    Production growth in this quarter was lower compared to growth in the previous quarter which grew by 0.80 percent. Production Growth of Large and Medium Manufacturing Industry from year to year in second quarter of 2017 (y-to-y) increased by 0.73 percent.

    The type of industry that has the highest increase in the second quarter of 2017 was the Electrical Equipment Industry that grew by 3.02 percent. The lowest growth was recorded by the Rubber Industry. Goods from Rubber and Plastic has slowing growth of 2.55 percent.

    Production Growth of Large and Medium Manufacturing Industry in the second quarter of 2017 grew by 2.57 percent (q-to-q) from the first quarter of 2017. The national production growth in this quarter was higher than the growth in the preceding quarter which grew by 0 , 99 percent. Production Growth of Micro and Small Industries in the second quarter of 2017 increased by 3.73 percent (q-to-q) from I quarter of 2017.

    Production growth in thi quarter was higher compared with growth in the preceding quarter which grew by 0.97 percent. Production Growth of Micro and Small Industry from year-on-year (y-on-y) grew by 3.38 percent.

    Types of Micro and Small Industry that experienced the highest increase in the second quarter of 2017 were Pharmaceutical Industry; Chemical and Traditional Medicinal Products rose by 19.73 percent. While the types of Micro and Small Industries that experienced the biggest decrease were Wood, Wooden, and Cork (Not Including Furniture) and Bamboo, and Rattan Woven Goods dropped by 11.11 percent.

    Production growth of National Small Micro Industry in the second quarter of 2017 increased by 1.64 percent (q-to-q) from the first quarter of 2017.

    "The national production growth in this quarter is lower compared to the growth in the previous quarter which grew by 2.44 percent," said Dody Herlando, Head of West Java BPS, Thursday (3/8).
