    UNESCO Assessor Team Visit Geopark Ciletuh


    BANDUNG-Two members of the assessment team from UNESCO Global Geopark (UGG) conduct an assessment of National Geopark Ciletuh Palabuhanratu (GNCP), Sukabumi District, 1 to 4 August 2017.

    They consist of Alex Andrasanu (Romania) representing Europe and Soe Jae Lee (South Korea) representing Asia. Both will be accompanied by Indonesian representative observer team for Unesco, Hanang Samudera, Head of National Geopark Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Management Team Denny Djuanda, Expert Team of GNCP Mega Fatimah Rosana, Head of West Java Tourism and Culture Deparment Ida Hernida, and some representatives of Bio Farma.

    Head of Tourism and Culture Deparment of West Java, Ida Hernida said, the arrival of UNESCO Global Geopark assesor team will assess the feasibility of GNCP to become world's geopark. To obtain the assessment, the completeness of the completed infrastructure including road guidance, information panels, directions, clean water sanitation, toilets, bins and Geopark Information Center (GIC) are needed.

    "We complete all that has not equipped in accordance with the direction of UNESCO," said Ida in his official statement received in Bandung, Wednesday (02/08/2017).

    The assessment team will visit a number of places in the GNCP region. In the first day the team got a presentation from the GNCP Management Board, the expert team, Bio Farma, and from the Regent of Sukabumi at the Presidential Palace of Tenjoresmi, followed by a visit to the Geopark Iformation Center (GIC).

    "On this first day, the assessment team has not been able to give comment because they still collecting data," she said.

    While on the second day, the team will visit the Fish Auction Place (TPI), Kunti Beach - Mount Badak, Curug Cimarinjung - Ciemas, SDN Tegal Caringin to witness the socialization of GNCP among students, then to Panejoan geosite (largest Ampi theater) and mini museum geopark. Then to Pangumbahan (goesite turtle conservation) followed by turtle release.

    Day three visit Ujung Genteng beach (geosite coral reef, fishing village, bunker culture site), continued to Asaba Land (coconut sugar processing) and Cikarang estuary, then to Surade ((Puslit Geopark Unpad), Palabuhanratu (Geyser Cipanas Cisolok) And ended in Sinaresmi custom village (Culture diversity).
