    Prices of Rice and Grain in West Java tend to decline


    BANDUNG- West Java Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded during July 2017, the average price of Dry Grain Harvest (GKP) at Farmers of West Java amounting to Rp. 4,528.95 per kilogram or decreased 0.61% compared to the price of GKP June 2017 Rp. 4.556.57.

    Dry Mill Grain (GKG) at Farmer Level rose 0.23% from Rp. 5,038.57 to Rp. 5,050.00 per kilogram, and for Grain of Low Quality down 2.36% from Rp. 3,692.31 to Rp. 3,605.33 per kilogram.
    Meanwhile, the average price of rice at the Milling Rate of Rp. 9,591.31 per kilogram or up 0.06% compared to June 2017 which recorded Rp. 9,585.76. Based on broken rice, Premium Rice quality decreased 0.69% from Rp. 10,200.77 to Rp. 10.130.36, while the Medium decreased 0.24% from Rp. 9,265.00 to Rp. 9,242.47, and Low quality Rice rose 3.17% from Rp. 8,484.62 to Rp. 8,753.57.
    "During July, rice prices tend to decline," said Head of Distribution Statistics BPS Jabar, Dudung Supriyadi, Tuesday (1/8).
    In the Rural Areas of West Java, BPS recorded five out of seven expenditure groups experienced inflation, the highest occurred in the Education, Recreation & Sports category of inflation of 1.10%, followed by Health Group inflation of 0.70%, Food, Beverage, Cigarette & Tobacco inflation by 0.46%, Transportation & Communications Group by 0.07%, Housing Group inflation by 0.02%, while Deflation Group deflation by 0.07%, and Food Deflation Group by 0.04%.
