    1,3 Millions of West Java People Got Infetility


    BANDUNG-The parent organization of reproductive technology in Indonesia (PERFITRI) notes from Indonesia that has a population of 257.9 million people has a reproductive age of 75.7 million people, so it is estimated that there are about 7.5 million reproductive age population who have infertility and need help. In West Java, the infertile population is estimated at 1.3 million people.

    Fertility & Endocrinology Consultant Reproduction RSIA Limijati, Dian Tjahyadi said infertility population occurs in 10% of the reproductive age population. While in Bandung with a reproductive age of 1.1 million people is estimated there are 110,000 people who have infertility.

    "In West Java, infertile population is estimated at 1.3 million people, while for Bandung city, there are an estimated 110,000 people," she told reporters on Sunday (07/23/2017).

    According to Dian, to help the reproductive age population with infertility, a facility that provides comprehensive services is needed.

    Maternal and Child Hospital Limijati as mother and child hospital in Bandung provide facility of assisted Reproduction Technology (TRB) Bandung Fertility Center (BFC) located on 5th floor of B building of RSIA Limijati.

    Dian further explained, BFC has a team that is a pioneer of infant tube technology in Bandung consisting of obstetric specialists and obstetricians who are experts in the field of TRB, specialist urologist andrology consultant, embryologist and a reliable nurse.

    "BFC has facilities for advanced assisted reproductive technologies such as sperm washing, freezing sperm, testicular sperm extraction (TESE), intrauterine insemination, and in vitro fertilization (IVF) with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)," she explained.

    BFC also has a TESE award for azoospermic patients with sperm removal from the plant to be combined with the egg.

    Generally, the community considers that assisted reproductive technology is expensive. Understanding the community's need for the technology, Bandung Fertility Center provides affordable baby tube packets starting from Rp.37.500.000,- with full dose of ovarian stimulation.

    "Up to 80 babies have been born, and hundreds of infants from intrauterine insemination have been observed for development by the development team RSIA Limijati and found that they grow and develop like children conceived by natural processes," she concluded. (MAT)
