BANDUNG - The craftsmen and creative industries should documenting their product result completely and also registered it to Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI). This statement was made by chairman of National Craft Council (Dekranasda) West Java province, Netty Prasetyani Heryawan.
"Every handicrafts industry have to include an explanation as well as the product identity in each packaging," he said.
According to Netty, this step needed to anticipate the possibility of our products recognised by other people or other countries as happened some time ago.
"Often we panic if then our products recognised by other people or other country," said Netty, in an event in Bandung last weekend.
Therefore, according to Netty, it’s very important for craftsmen and industry to documenting their product to protect it.
"Include the product identity as a form of protection on products we produce, considering that many counterfeit goods are produced almost identical to the original," she said.
