    West Java Highest User of Telkomsel Data Service

    BANDUNG-Telkomsel Indonesia recorded during the Lebaran holiday 2017 that the highest traffic service traffic was in Jabotabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi) area. 

    BANDUNG-Telkomsel Indonesia recorded during the Lebaran holiday 2017 the highest traffic service traffic was in Jabotabek area. West Java occupies the first position with a number of more than 1,700 Terabytes (TB), followed by the Java-Bali area that consumes more than 1,645 TB.

    Vice President of Corporate Communications of Telkomsel, Adita Irawati explained that internet data usage traffic increased by 136 percent during Lebaran moment this year.

    "Telkomsel experienced a surge in the use of data services 136 percent through the number of more than 6,000 Terabytes (TB) in Lebaran day, which is higher than in 2016," said Adita Irawati in her official statement in Bandung, Sunday (2/7/2017).

    For Sumatera area, the use of of data services has increased to more than 36 percent, while the Java-Bali area, covering Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java reached more than 32 percent, when compared with the normal day this year.

    The use of data services at Lebaran moment also recorded a significant increase in some locations which became the point of travellers such as Soekarno Hatta Airport, Kuala Namu Airport, Merak Harbor, Kaliangsa toll exit, Rest Area km 9 Cibubur and Kolaka Ferry Port, and Southeast Sulawesi.

    Adita revealed, the use of data services most used by customers to access social media (socmed) about 36 percent, followed by streaming video service 29 percent.

    "When compared to normal days during 2017, this service also increased more than 27 percent," she said.

    Improvements are also monitored up in tourist sites which crowded with visitors, such as Batu Karas (Pangandaran), Ancol, Kuta Beach, and Kota Bunga (Puncak). Meanwhile, for voice and SMS services does not increase when compared with normal day traffic.

    "Voice service traffic fell 6 percent to 1.3 billion minutes, while SMS tends to stagnate at 740 million SMS," he concluded. (MAT)
