    June 2017, BI Predicts Bandung Inflation Reaches 0.9


    BANDUNG-Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KpW) of West Java predicts there will be inflation in Bandung of 0.7% to 0.9% in June 2017. For that, BI West Java Representatives will socialize to the public to be wise in shopping.

    "We continue to socialize to the public to be wise in shopping, not to accumulate commodities because the food supply is sufficient," said Head of West Java Bank Indonesia, Wiwiek Sisto Widayat to reporters in Bandung, Thursday (8/6/2017).

    Wiwiek explained BI has coordinated with West Java Logistic Affairs Agency that the availability of garlic in West Java has reached 80 tons. While the stock of beef, rice, and chicken eggs is sufficient for the needs during Ramadan and Eid. Wiwiek also does not prohibit people to shop as long as the number of reasonable and not excessive.

    "So the supply is enough, so people do not have to fret and do not need to shop more than their needs We do not prohibit people to shop as long as the amount is still reasonable," he said.

    BI West Java Representatives, continued Wiwiek, will regularly work together with the Provincial Government (Provincial Government) of West Java, District Government (Pemkab) of Bandung, and City Government (Pemkot) of Bandung to campaign simple lifestyle by not spending excessively during Ramadan and Idul Fitri .

    "We will continue to work with the local government to mengampayekan life-saving pattern that encourages people not to over-spend in shopping," he concluded.
