    Online Transportation Banned Curbing Creativity


    BANDUNG - Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar assess if online taxi and ojek (motorcycle taxi) transportation are prohibited it will make some people lose revenue.

    "If it is prohibited, then some people will lost their income. In fact, there are a lot of people who choose the profession as a ojek driver which provided by GoJek, GrabBike, Uber, Blue Jek, Lady-Jek, and others," he said.

    In addition to the revenues, the online transport has become one of society's needs today. This is evident from the large number of users this transportation. "If it stopped, the community will be difficult to find transportation," he explained.

    The government had banned the operation of online taxi and ojek (motorcycle taxi) transportation because it is considered not comply with the provisions of Law No. 22 of 2009 on traffic and road transportation and also Government Regulation No. 74 of 2014 on transportation.

    President Jokowi was also disagreed with the rule of banning the operation online taxi and ojek transportation made the Ministry of Transportation. The prohibition is considered curbing the creativity of young people.

    According to him, the absence of rules governing on taxis as public transportation is not an excuse to ban it. Moreover, the President saw some people rely on this kind of transportation.
