BANDUNG-West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan (Aher) inaugurates Bekasi Regent and Vice Regent, The term of office 2017-2022 in the West Hall of Gedung Sate, Diponegoro Street No. 22, Bandung City, Monday (22/5/17). This is the inauguration of Phase I (first) of 3 (three) Stages of Inauguration of Regional Head and Deputy Regional Head Elected Result of Simultaneous Regional Head Election 2017.
Aher inaugurated Neneng Hasanah Yasin and Eka Supria Atmaja as Regent and Vice Regent of Bekasi Term of Office 2017-2022. The inauguration is in accordance with the Minister of Home Affairs Decree No. 131.32-2864 Year 2017 on the Appointment of Bekasi Regent of West Java Province and the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 132.32-2865 Year 2017 on the Appointment of Vice Regent of Bekasi West Java Province. Both decisions of the Minister of Home Affairs are stipulated in Jakarta, April 17, 2017.
In his address, Governor Aher stressed that Regent and Vice Regent focus on Human Resource development. Judging from the population pyramid, Bekasi Regency shows that the age group of toddlers, school age, and productive age dominate. This is an opportunity as well as a challenge for the Local Government, related to the demands of employment that must be available for productive age groups to reduce the number of unemployed.
As for the school age group, the challenge is the availability of access and quality of education is getting better to achieve higher education level. When entering productive age they can compete in the labor market and contribute to regional development.
"Education is one of pressure, because in Bekasi it is present now as a dense district, 3.6 million inhabitants. It's like a province outside of Java. Therefore, the press point of human resource development. Densely populated human resources must be superior, quality, of course with the industry growing in Bekasi, "said Aher after the inauguration ceremony.
To that end, Aher also requested that the Regent and Vice Regent directly work to realize the promises of their campaign. Neneng and Eka were asked to increase the Human Development Index (IPM) of Bekasi Regency which in 2016 reached 72.09 points.
Responding to this, met after the inauguration ceremony of Regent Neneng revealed that Home Work of Bekasi Regency Government are still many. Although Bekasi is known as a large industrial area in Indonesia, unemployment will still exist.
"We through Labor Office (Dinas Tenaga kerja) will provide job fair, then will provide apprenticeship - with new apprenticeship system. That way our children can have competencies that are equal to the workers already in the company. God willing we will help the people of Bekasi Regency more prosperous again, "said Neneng.
Another thing that Aher emphasizes is the development of regional infrastructure more evenly as a driver of regional growth, such as roads and bridges, irrigation, water supply fulfillment, integrated waste management, availability of rural electricity access, and quality economic growth based on Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises. This is to reduce the imbalance between the north-central-south region and the social gap. In addition, Bekasi regency can also facilitate the success of national strategic infrastructure development.
In the current era of the ASEAN Economic Community, the region is also required to continue to improve productivity, competitiveness and economic independence by driving the strategic sectors of the domestic economy. To that end, Aher wants to be in Bekasi regency in order to have the innovation of licensing and non-licensing governance services, and to improve the availability of infrastructure and business support facilities to increase investment in order to open employment opportunities.
"Finally, I also invite the Government of Bekasi Regency to jointly present an effective, efficient, transparent and accountable bureaucracy, and policies that always favor the interests of society," said Aher in his message.
On this occasion, Neneng also expressed her wish that Bekasi Regency is more beautiful than and environmentally friendly. "Vision and Mission that we are talking about how Bekasi is more beautiful, how more environmentally friendly. We know with the existing industrial area of course also our rivers there must be some that may be - because the waste so polluted and so forth. But it is our homework, "Neneng concluded.
