BANDUNG - Approximately 1,000 children participated in the national colouring competition which was held in Bandung on Thursday (04/27/2017).
Public Relations of PT Standardpen Industries, Shara Christianti explained that by carrying the theme "Ceria Warna Nusantara", the organizing committee raised Indonesian culture which is rich in colours such Pascola, a friendly colouring tool for children's skin.
"This theme is chosen as a form of company's attention for Indonesian culture which is rich in colour. Through this activity, we'd like to introduce different and colourful archipelago cultural icons," she explained.
Shara further said that colouring is a basic education for children in enhancing knowledge as well as sharpening their motor skills to be more creative.
"The goal is for Indonesian children to be more creative in creating works. More importantly, what being coloured are the symbols of Indonesian culture," she said.
According to Shara, the colouring competition "Ceria Warna Nusantara" will be held from April to May 2017 in 16 cities of 13 provinces including Semarang, Malang, Bali, Tasikmalaya, Surabaya, Jakarta, Tangerang, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Lampung, Medan, Padang, Balikpapan, Samarinda, Makassar and Batam.
"As representatives of Indonesia, the children will colour the symbols of three provinces which are Sumatera, Bali and Java," she informed. (MAT)
