BANDUNG-Around 20,000 books worth reading were donated to more than 150 reading parks/library/school throughout Indonesia in the celebration of Kartini Day 2017 on April 21st 2017. This social action is a form of empathy from PLN employees to increase reading interest of the community to improve the quality of education in Indonesia.
The distribution of the books was done simultaneously in several areas in Indonesia by all units of PLN on the commemoration of Kartini Day. The Head of Corporate Communications Unit of PLN, I Made Suprateka, mentioned that the activity of distributing these books is a form of PLN concern that was inspired from the social life of Ibu Kartini.
"For that reason, taking momentum on Kartini Day 21 April 2017, we held simultaneous distribution books by PLN units in various locations as well as celebration of Kartini Day. These books are donated by PLN employees, as well as the assistance of PLN Peduli programme," Made said.
On the theme of "Kartini the Country Inspiration/Kartini Inspirasi Negeri" books collected from PLN employees in Indonesia were expected to provide inspiration for the children of the nation to continue to work, and foster the spirit of togetherness among the people.
In Bandung, PLN West Java Distribution was represented by Human Resources Manager and Organization, Prasetyorini, donated books that collected from all employees of PLN West Java Distribution as much as 2,500 books to be distributed to reading park and library in need in each work area of ??PLN West Java Distribution. In Bandung area as many as 329 books distributed through the Pecandu Buku (Books Addict) Community for then will be sorted and distributed to the library and reading park in need. (Pun)
