BANDUNG–Since January to April 14th, Regional Office of National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BBPOM) of Bandung managed to secure illegal drugs and food from various places that were worth 735.706.370 IDR.
In his press conference, the Head of National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM), Penny Lukito, said that BPOM, the police and prosecutors had secured 727 illegal drugs and food, whether they do not have a distribution license or do not meet safety standards, benefits and quality.
There were 44,15% illegal drugs, 29,57% illegal cosmetics, 19,39% illegal traditional medicine, and 6,88% illegal food. "The illegal traditional medicine was mostly found in Sukabumi, Cianjur, and Karawang. Meanwhile, the illegal cosmetics were found in Bandung city," she said in Bandung, Friday (21/4/2017).
She added that in the field of legal action, three prosecution cases had been processed, where two of them are food offenses and one case of health. "I affirm that all business doers must obey the rules, do not endanger the society in running their business," she said. jo
