BANDUNG–The stock of basic needs especially food should be sufficient and prepared this April in order to secure their availability and the price was controlled during Ramadan.
The Head of Bulog Regional Division (Divre) of West Java, Abdul Muis, said that for food stock especially rice, sugar, and meat were ready to face Ramadhan and Eid Al-Fitr.
"Rice stocks are very safe, in Bulog warehouses currently reaches 78.8 thousand tons. It's very safe until Eid," he said in Bandung, Monday (17/4).
He added that meat stocks was in the middle of preparing process, up to 5 tons and would be ditributed at 80.000 IDR/kg. The same thing applied to sugar at 12.500 IDR/kg.
"We will also stabilize the price of rice, meat and sugar through market operations (operasi pasar) if there are price fluctuations before Ramadan," he added.
Economic observer from the Pasundan University, Acuviarta Kartabi, said the availability of foodstuffs at least could reduce the rate of inflation that occured before every Ramadan and Eid.
