BANDUNG - PT Bio Farma, Tourism Department of Sukabumi Regency, UNPAD and UPI Publicized Educational Concepts in the Development of Ciletuh Geopark. The socialization was held in Sukabumi on Monday (04/10).
As cited in public release of Bio Farma, R. Herry, Head Division of CSR, EHS and PKBL of Biofarma said one of the components that are integrated in the Geopark concept is education.
"By integrating education, the involvement of stakeholders in education has become an important factor in the development of Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark. To support this, Bio Farma in cooperation with Department of Sukabumi Tourism carried out socialization to Principals and teachers," he said.
The event was attended by more than 300 principals and teachers of schools located in the area of Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark. This event aims to integrate educational aspects in the development of Geopark.
Geopark expert speakers present at the event were Hanang Samodra as Advisor of UNESCO Global Geopark from Geological Agency who presented the concept of Geopark, Sam Permana Dewi from Geological Agency who presented Geoheritage, Prof. Mega Fatimah Rosana from UNPAD geology major who provided an explanation on Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark, and Dr. Ahmad Yani from Department of Geography Education in UPI who explained about Geopark's Curriculum Development in Schools.
Moreover, In the event attended by Regent of Sukabumi Marwan Hamami, R. Herry also explained the role of Bio Farma in the Development of National Geopark Ciletuh.
"The socialization will focus on stakeholders in education field of Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark Region in order to understand the concept of integrated education in the development of Geopark. So Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark can meet one of the UNESCO Global Geopark requirements, especially in the aspects of education," said Herry
The cooperation of the implementation of this socialization is a form of Bio Farma commitment through a sustainable CSR program in support to Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark to become UNESCO Global Geopark. (Pun)
