BANDUNG - The University of Padjadjaran (Unpad) in collaboration with Damri Corporation has provided two special bus units for college students which connect the Campus of Dipati Ukur and Jatinangor, and vice versa. The transport is provided to support student mobility to and from the campus of Dipati Ukur and Jatinangor.
Director of Infrastructure of Padjadjaran University, Irwan Ary Dharmawan said the provision of free transport is the result of discussion between the University of Padjadjaran through the Directorate of Infrastructure and students through Student Executive Board (BEM) of Kema Unpad.
"Since April 4th, 2017, the program of free transport for students is already underway," he told reporters in Bandung, Friday (07/04/2017)
According to him, the free buses have a capacity of 54 seating and can accommodate up to 90 students.
"From the two buses which are provided, one unit is used for the trip from the Campus of Dipati Ukur to Jatinangor, while the other unit is to travel from Jatinangor Campus towards Dipati Ukur," he informed.
Technically, all students are entitled to take the bus by showing Student Identity Card (KTM). "Showing the KTM is an attempt to filter passengers on the bus and make sure that it's true they're Unpad students. This is the result of an agreement with the representatives of BEM," he added.
The bus departure time is set to be at 06.00 am and 05.00 pm for Dipati Ukur-Jatinangor route, and at 06.00 am and 04.00 pm (Monday-Tuesday), 01.00 pm and 04.00 pm (Wednesday-Friday) for Jatinangor-Dipati Ukur.
"The buses will operate on every Monday to Friday. For the bus to Jatinangor will tour around the faculties in Jatinangor Campus," he said. (MAT)
