    West Java Province Commits Itself to Supporting Persib


    BANDUNG - To welcome the 1st League in the competition year of 2017, thousands of bobotoh (name of Persib's fans) gathered in the Persib Team Launch taking place at the Siliwangi Stadium in Bandung, Sunday night (04/02/2017).

    The event was opened by Manager of Persib, Umuh Muchtar and also Governor of West Java, Ahmad Heryawan. Aher in his opening speech stated that the event was the 84th anniversary celebration of Persib as well as the launch of Persib team that will compete in the 1st League in 2017. Aher also expects Persib to become a champion in the 1st League 1 in 2017. "This event is the 84th anniversary celebration of Persib as well as to launch the team in welcoming the 1st League in 2017 as a champion," he said.

    Furthermore, Aher also expressed his respect for bobotoh who always faithfully support Persib, so that bobotoh was chosen as the best supporters in the tournament of 2017 President's Cup. Aher explained that bobotoh is currently the biggest supporter group in Indonesia. More importantly, bobotoh now can be equated with several clubs in Europe and even in the world as one of the largest supporter group with the highest number in the world.

    Aher also stated that the Government of West Java Province has committed itself to always providing support for Persib in order to be the best football club in the country. "I, on behalf of the West Java Provincial Government commit to supporting Persib in order that Persib can always be the pride of the football club for the citizens of West Java, as well as be the best club in Indonesia," he said.

    During the event, there was also a ceremonial agenda of cutting a birthday cake by the manager of Persib, Umuh Muchtar. The event was closed with the launch of new jersey and introducing the players of Persib Bandung who will compete in 2017 1st League, in which there were two new world-class players, named Michael Essien and Carlton Cole. Both of the players are foreign players recently recruited by the Persib team and once became a star while playing in the Premier League.
