BANDUNG-The Vice Governor of West Java, Deddy Mizwar, emphasised that a stamp can record the history of civilisation. According to Demiz, the nickname of Vice Governor, in every issue of stamps always related to certain important events in a country.
Demiz stated the matter in the 95th anniversary of commemoration day of Indonesian Philately at Central Office of Pos Indonesia company, Cilaki street, Bandung, Saturday (1/4).
"There is no stamp that was issued without important event as background. That's why, stamps can be reminder of the historical records of this nation," he said.
In that ocassion, Demiz also appreciated all philatelists who still collecting stamps even though the stamps usage had been reduced and still made it still popular.
"On the behalf of West Java Provincial Government and myself, I give my highest appreciation for the effort of philatelists. Their efforts are so great, what they do is not just a hobby but also involve to keep the records of history implicitly," said Deddy Mizwar.
The commemoration day of 95th anniversary of phylately is the start of world phylately competition which will be held in Indonesia in August 2017 from 95 countries. In that occasion, the first day stamps cover of the commemoration day of 95th anniversary of Indonesian Phylately was signed. (Pun)
