BANDUNG-The Governor and the Vice Governor of West Java reported their Annual Tax Return (SPT) via e-Filling . The process of reporting their SPT was seen by the Head of West Java Regional Office of Directorate General of Taxation Yoyok Setyotomo and the Head of Cibeunying Tax Office Andi Setiawan at Sate Building, Diponegoro Street Number 22, Bandung city, Thursday (3/23/17).

The Governor Ahmad Heryawan (Aher) stated that the process had done with the Vice Governor Deddy Mizwar as an effort and an example for citizens to pay and report their annual taxes. For that reason, he encouraged pay taxers in West Java to not only pay their taxes, but also report it. Because now, SPT can be paid easily from anywhere and anytime via e-Filling.

"I encourage pay taxers in West Java to report and pay their taxes," Aher revealed.

"We have to give an example that we as Indonesian citizens should have awareness of paying tax, because the fund of building infrastructures whether in regions or cities are from tax. So that, the citizens' tax that is received by the state is really matter," he added before delivering his SPT report.

Tax is fund resources of infrastructures in this country. The fund of infrastructures or transfered fund from the Central Government to the Provincial Government, especially General Allocation Grant (DAU) and Special Allocation Fund (DAK) to regions or cities were about 54% from tax. On the other hands, the fund of infrastructures construction from the Central Government to the Provincial Government, including most of Own-source Revenue (PAD) of the Provincial Government came from tax that had been paid by citizens.

"The tax is amazing, it becomes a bread winner of the state and regions spending ," Aher said.

For that reason, Aher as the representative of West Java Provincial Government encouraged citizens to pay and report their taxes that had been paid. He also welcomed the improvement of citizens' awareness on paying tax and he supported the efforts of Regional Office of Directorate General of Taxation that was located in West Java to keep increasing the number of tax payers' income in paying and reporting their taxes. Because West Java province was always be the largest contributor of tax in the national level.

There are 3 regional offices of Directorate General of Taxation. The 1st regional offices were in Great Bandung, Priangan, Sukabumi, and Cianjur. The 2nd regional offices were in Bekasi, Karawang, SUbang, Kuningan, Cirebon, and Majalengka. While the 3rd regional offices were in Bogor, Depok City, and Bekasi City.

For 1st level Regional Office of Directorate General of Taxation, the number of pax taxers who obeyed to report their taxes reached 50%, while only 5% of them that had been already paid their taxes. Meanwhile pay taxers in 1st level of West Java reached 2 million people and 1.8 million of them were employees.

After escorting the Governor, the Vice Governor delivered his SPT to the Head of Regional Office of Directorate General of Taxation Yoyok Setyotomo and sai the received tax in West Java area in 2016 reached 86% or it was IDR 26.8 trillion. From this achievement, 1st level of West Java became the highest the number of received taxes.

However, Yoyok observed that the citizens' awareness to pay and report their taxes was considered still in low level. Although, there was additional pay taxers that was less than 10%. For that reason, he was expected an effort from the Governor and the Vice of Governor in reporting their SPT via e-Filling could be an example for citizens and could deliver their SPT immediately until March 31th 2017.

"We have targeted in this year for IDR 29 trillion, it is lower than last year. Last year was IDR 30 trillion, and most of them are contibured by Tax Amnesty. And the recent Tax Amnesty that we have got is IDR 5.8 trillion for 1st level of West Java," Yoyok continued.

Furthermore, Yoyok added that his parties would act decisively to deliquent pay taxers in his area. For that reason, he had ordered special celss in Nusakambangan for those who did not want to pay tax.

"To give them lesson, if they are arrested in here, their families can still see them, it is too comfortable for them. So, we decided to move them into Nusakambangan's cells," Yoyok said.

Yoyok stated in 1st Regional Office of West Java of Directorate General of Taxation that there was one deliquent pay taxer called HS. He did not pay tax for IDR 1 billion and he was arrested in Kebon Waru Jail.
