Rancaekek Flood Mitigation to Start from Kahatex

BANDUNG - Vice Governor of West Java, Deddy Mizwar said that the demolition of buildings which belong to PT Kahatex has already begun to mitigate the routine floods in Rancaekek.

"Some have been demolished, gradually," he said.

He said that the Government has observed other possible causes in order that the flood mitigation project in Rancaekek can be completely carried out.

Having been known that the Government of West Java Province along with five regencies/cities in the Bandung basin has agreed on the numerical model that will be made as a guidance in mitigating the floods in the regions.

The agreement was also reached by the signing of flood mitigation projects led by Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar in Bandung at the end of last year. At that time, the agreement was also attended by Mayor of Bandung City Ridwan Kamil, Regent of Bandung Regency Dadang Naser, and representatives of the Government of West Bandung, Sumedang, and Cimahi.

In the statement, there are a number of important things which become the focus of attention. First, optimizing the role of each party is considered essential to reduce flooding in a comprehensive manner.

Furthermore, there is a division of roles into the Multi-party Action Plan - Work Implementation (RAM IP). Furthermore, it is important to combine and to integrate the policies of the Central Government, the Government of Province and also Regencies/cities. jo
