BANDUNG- Provincial Government of West Java makes sure that the flood mitigation on Rancaekek Highway, to be specific in the centre of PT Kahatex will be conducted in an integrated manner by the multi-party.
Regional Secretary of West Java, Iwa Karniwa said the flood mitigations which are still ongoing in the regions, are mostly conducted by the Central River Region (BBWS) Citarum and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. "The mitigation is gradually undertaken by the government. It has begun since 2016," he said at Gedung Sate, Bandung, Monday (03/13).
Iwa further said with the estimate of funding is about IDR 579,7 million, the government has prepared a strategy of flood mitigation in which this weekend it will disconnect the traffic of Garut - Bandung and vice versa. It will start from the structural to cultural. "The estimated costs are more than IDR 579 million, all from the State and Regional budgets," he said.
The Governments of Sumedang and Bandung Regency have a duty to reconstruct drainage and collector drain. According to Iwa, it has started since 2017 and will be completed in 2018. "BBWS, since 2016 has been trying to acquire a 53-hectare land of Cikijing River, Cimande River and the upstream area of Citarum River. It is projected to complete in 2018," he said.
The river rehabilitation is considered to be the most outsatnding action, since the capacity of the river is not proportional to the water flow. For the land acquisition, BBWS Citarum has already allocated IDR 220 million from the State Budget. "The next will be the realization of construction on the Cikijing, Citarik, Cimande and Cikeruh River," he said. (Pun)
