CIANJUR REGENCY–To build self-confidence and independence of disabled people or children with special needs (ABK), all creative potential and skills possessed by them need to be developed. Thus various activities and facilities in SLB and Inclusive Schools should be encouraged so that learners can express their interests, talents, and potential or special talents.
This was stated by Vice Governor of West Java, Deddy Mizwar during ceremony opening of Expo & Exhibition Artwork of SLB BC Children with Special Needs at Purnama Hotel, on 81.3 Km Raya street, Cipanas Cipanas, Cianjur regency, on Thursday (3/9/17).
"This is the fourth expo held by SLB Purnama. I think this deserves developing, so the children with special needs can build their self-confidence. Moreover, we are now developing inclusive schools. West Java is known as inclusive schools for children with special needs," said Deputy Governor after the ceremony opening.
Vice Governor stressed that through this economic creativity value, the means of marketing should also be considered. Through expos or exhibitions as what SLB held, according to the Vice Governor Purnama, this could be a means to market their products.
"If there is no this kind of exhibition or expo, no one will acknowledge their creativities. I guess this could be an example for other SLB, "Vice Governor said.
On this occasion, Vice Governor also encouraged several parties - in particular business world to make room for disabled people to work. They can be placed in ordinary offices, such as being administrative personnel or other fields but not risky for them. He assessed that currently there are not many companies or business that hire disabled people
The theme of Expo & ExhibitionArt "Being Creative and Independent" was held from 9 to 11 March 2017. In the opening ceremony, ABK members showed a variety of creative art and culture such as dancing, singing, and Pencak Silat attractions. In addition, there is also an exhibition of paintings and various works of craft art, such as ornamental plants, agricultural products, furniture, and souvenirs.
SLB Purnama cooperated with various parties to distribute the works of their students. Foundation Chairman of Cipanas Purnama School, Khudori said, a various works of the students were already widely booked by the Department of Industry, local governments and hotels. In fact there are already sent outside Java such as Kalimantan and Papua.
"Alhamdulillah from year to year there is an increase of product demands. They are from Bogor, outside Java, Kalimantan, Papua and Cianjur, " Khudori said.
"We'd like to invite people to help children with special needs. Whoever has the expertise, ability, possessions, thought, are welcomed help, "he said.
