BANDUNG - Dozens of mass members of the Blind Sues Forum in West Java came to the Parliament Building in Diponegoro street, after doing a long-march from Center for the Blind (PSBN) Wyataguna, Padjadjaran street, Thursday (03/12).
Action coordinator Suhendar said their arrival to the parliament in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities as well as to convey the aspirations of the members of parliaments. This action conducted because persons with disabilities still have not received attention.
"Until this time people with disabilities have not received the attention expected from the government and Parliament, especially in education issues," he said.
According to Suhendar, the education facilities for people with disabilities is still far in appropriate conditions and not in accordance with the government regulations of the disability’s rights.
"Education is a rights of every citizen, but people with disabilities just seems like a burden for the government," he said.
Therefore, addressing these problems, his party insist to the government to immediately realise their demands, including accelerating the new disability regulation, opening education infrastructure, provision of employment opportunities, and fulfilment the accessibility of public facilities and infrastructure.
