BANDUNG REGENCY-Commander of Military Territorial Commands (Pangdam) III/Siliwangi accompanied the Minister of Agriculture, Prof. DR. Ir. H. Andi Amran Sulaeman, to Soreang, Bandung Regency, Saturday (21/1). The working visit of the Minister is in National Agricultural Hold Out Coordination Meeting.
Commander of Military Territorial Commands (Pangdam) III/Siliwangi, Major General M. Herindra, in this coordination meeting he expressed his support towards program which was proclaimed by the Minister of Agriculture regarding agricultural hold-out and self-supporting.
He added, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and agricultural hold-out are related to each other because the main orientation of TNI is to succed in agricultural self-supporting and does not need to import food.
Vice Governor of West Java, H. Dedy Mizwar, said in his speech that West Java is highly potential in achieving rice, maize, and soya bean sovereignity.
The needs of animal proteins in forming brain cells work can be produced not only through beef, but also from rabbit and lamb.
Vice Governor also added, food sovereignity will be claimed as successful if we do not import rice from other countries because we are able to manage the basic needs of the people, he explained.
Vice Governor also appreciated Indonesian National Armed Force (TNI), that Military Territorial Commands (Kodam) III/Siliwangi can help in building village bridges like in Tasik and Pangandaran so that logistics area can be well-distributed and the nutrition of the people can be met.
